![]() ![]() This claustrophobia is again in stark contrast to, for example, Origins, the last map added to Black Ops 2. The sheer claustrophobia that Nacht der Untoten arouses comes out better than ever with the improved engine of Black Ops 3 and the graphical power of the new consoles. This small map was originally conceived as a small bonus game mode if you had completed the World at War story, but thanks to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community, it grew into the phenomenon we know today. It all starts at the very beginning of Nacht der Untoten. In this new DLC called Call of Duty Zombies Chronicles for Black Ops 3 you can get started with eight remastered maps from the previous games: Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Kino der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-La, Moon and Origins. Incidentally, the new Call of Duty: WWII will also contain a zombie mode. Only they never had the same success as Treyarch. Infinite Warfare and Advanced Warfare both feature a zombie mode with their own twist, and Call of Duty: Ghosts even went for a horde survival game mode with aliens. ![]() ![]() Not just Treyarchĭue to the success of Treyarch’s zombies, other Call of Duty developers have also ventured into the zombie principle. Treyarch’s zombie mode has evolved over the years from a fun bonus segment at the end of the World at War campaign to almost a game in itself, with original and innovative concepts and a storyline that rivals the “real” story mode of the majority of Call of Duty’s. Whether that is something, you can read in this Call of Duty Zombies Chronicles review. Some of the original zombies maps are now coming to current generation consoles. Zombies has become an integral part of the Call of Duty franchise. ![]()
